KMC to conduct city-wide tree health inspection and 'treatment' program
A grim discovery was made today in Mahisbathan, under the Electronic Complex police station area of Bidhannagar, where the severely decomposed body of a young man, identified as Palash Kanti Majumdar, an employee of Tata Motors, was found in his rented accommodation. The incident has sent a wave of shock through the locality as police launch an investigation into the mysterious circumstances surrounding his death.
According to police sources, Palash was last seen by neighbors cleaning his bike between 8:00 and 8:30 am on July 3. Following this, he abruptly went missing, and his room remained closed, with no one seeing him emerge. This morning, the landlord noticed a strong, foul odor emanating from the sealed room. Suspecting something amiss, the landlord immediately alerted the Electronic Complex police station.
Upon arrival, police officers broke open the door to the room, only to discover Palash Kanti Majumdar's body hanging from a noose. The advanced state of decomposition suggests he had been deceased for several days. While initial assessments point towards a possible suicide, police have registered a case of unnatural death and sent the body for post-mortem examination at RG Kar Hospital to ascertain the exact cause of death and rule out any foul play. Investigators are also speaking with local residents and the landlord to gather more information regarding Palash's activities and state of mind prior to his disappearance.
